The Old, Natural and Beautiful!

Recycle, Replenish and Reuse have been style statements gaining immense popularity for quite a while now. Be it turning an old shirt into a cute dress or last night's empty bottle into a decorative light fixture, recycling is a bold statement that is making its way into all forms of design. And we at Sanctum couldn't agree with this more!

Be it an old cabinet, dressing table or lamp, find ways to keep it around in a chic and stylish way. We suggest keeping these supposedly "unusable" pieces of furniture in your terrace or gardens and working your plants around them. Old distressed wood and blooming nature blend perfectly. You could style your garden around these fine old pieces and in case of cabinets and dressing tables acquire storage space too!

Here are a few images to help you get acquainted with the idea:

Let your cabinet drawers and surfaces overflow with plants either potted or directly grown within. Add a couple of curios or glass bottles for the complete look.

If you want to get a little more adventurous convert an old bath tub, bed or even a grand piano into a flower bed!

Your old seating furniture doesn't necessarily have to be used for sitting. Style them into decorative structures around which you can add a couple of plants.

On top of being attractive decor pieces, you also get ample storage space for all your garden tools if you move your old furniture out into the garden.

All in all remember the distressed furniture should serve one purpose: to add to the beauty of the natural element. So don't let them overpower the main attraction of your garden which are ofcourse the plants. Let the old out and into the wild!
