Drop Leaf Tables

Drop leaf tables are a blessing for small homes. Keep the leaves open when there are guests and rest of the time you can fold it to make way for some precious space.  Here are some images from around the net to inspire you.

Both leaves can be closed to turn it into a console table. Or close one end to get a smaller table. This table in white also has wheels to turn it into a trolley table.

This rectangular table has cleverly concealed drawers on both ends & looks handsome as a console

Keeping a slim console between the sofa and the wall gives an illusion of space. In this case, the drop leaf table has been used as a console. Pull it out when you have guests!

One of our popular designs, this table from Sanctum turns into a large table when opened. The legs tuck in neatly inside when the table is folded.

For the love of LOVE!

With Valentine's Day around the corner, it seems like the town has literally been painted red! Stores everywhere seem to be sporting Valentine themed decor from cheesy "Be Mine" heart shaped ballons to exotic drapes of gorgeous red roses. The cynics maybe rolling their eyes over and over and the romantics maybe sighing all day long, but the Valentine's Day decor doesn't necessarily mean red balloons and pink streamers. It could be so much more just by being a little less! The truth is we all need love and a touch of cupid might just be what we need to turn our "houses" into "homes".
Here's a few ideas on how your homes could be a tad bit more 'love'ly:
Quotes of the heart are great reminders of the beauty of life and can be added into many aspects of decor.

Instead of the heart take a hold of them arrows. They make for rustic additions to home decor. They can also be easily diyed into the home from fabric painted pillow covers to wooden arrow hangings to a simple wall decal.

And lastly the queen of Valentine's Day symbols-the heart itself! Personally I would prefer this symbol to be subtly added on mugs or fridge magnets. But if the idea is close to your heart then by all means go big with it!

Using one of the most quoted Beatles' song title, my arguement is simple: "All you need is Love"!

Scandinavian Decor

Scandinavian decor is much loved all over the world. Known for it's simplicity, beauty & clean lines, it is a simple yet effective decor trend. Black, white & grey are the dominating colours. High ceilings, large windows, ample light are a hallmark of these homes. A little colour is added by a chair , cushion cover or flowers. Here's how to do it!

Think White
There is no such thing as too much of white when it comes to Scandinavian decor. White walls, white furniture, white linen... It doesn't feel excessive.

Wooden Floors
No carpets please! Bare floors with a rug or kilim thrown in work best.

Succulents
Add some greenery via succulents & cacti
