Say Hello to Yellow

The color that best describes the month of May is definitely yellow! With the sun out for most of our waking moments, laburnum curtains offering pretty looking shade and of course, the mango being the dessert of the season, yellow seems to flood our view. An androgynous color that is happy, bright and perfect for a bit of peek-a-boo in your interiors.
Colors that work well with yellow, are navy and white palettes or black and grey ones. Even yellow with aquas and turquoises works well for a more brighter look. Instead of  letting this summery color drench your walls and home linen, I would let it play a bit of hide-n-seek in your interiors. Here's a few home accessories that could help you do just that!

Au Naturel:
The best and easiest way to add yellow to your interiors, especially if you're going for a seasonal look, is through natural elements - Flowers. From the graceful laburnum to the golden dandelion, your choices are endless! Add them in a bunch on your coffee table, swimming in a bowl of water or as hanging accessories.

Home Linen:
A pillow here, a gorgeous canary rug on your floor or a sunny yellow bed runner is a perfect way to add a touch of summer to your interiors.

Wall:

Let a laburnum spray or a sunflower inspire you to create its painting on a wall. Another option is to paint just one wall a solid shade of yellow.

Home Accessories:

Smaller decor items like a clock, a fruit bowl or a bird cage are perfect items to add a little yellow as well as for those wanting to take baby steps into this look.

Shades of Sakura

When dark skies turn to cloudless powder blue ones, chilly mornings into warm days, around the last few days of March a tiny white bud blushes as Sakura season sets upon us. With songs named after it, wars symbolizing it and crowds of people rushing to view it every year, the cherry blossom is a much awaited visitor to countries like Japan. From weeping blossoms that flow elegantly towards the floor to gorgeous trees with clusters forming canopies, the cherry blossom differs in varieties, colors, forms and shapes.
While some are white with spots of pink on them, others are icy pink growing a shade darker towards the stem. Interestingly, night sakura also termed yozakura in Japanese refers to the phenomenon of the changing shades of a blossom tree as the day progresses. From bright white in the sunlight, pale pink in the afternoon and an illuminated glow in the evening, the cherry blossom is indeed a magical flower!
Pale pink, cerise, magenta, peach and many more, sakura provides beautiful palettes and colour schemes for us to take inspiration from. Let's take a look!

Let the birds go, Keep the cage though!

The elegant birdcage makes its way into home decor in many forms. Whether it be a graphic on a French themed cushion cover or a cute magnet on your fridge, the bird cage adds a charming old world touch to homes. Moreover it has seen a few modern updates over the last decades and bird cages in pop colors and geometric shapes seem to be adorning many houses. Today's post lists the various ways you can dress up or dress down your birdcages, and be sure to know you don't require a feathered friend to do so!

Light Fixtures:

Drape your birdcages with fairy lights or stick in candles in them for a vintage feel. You can hang a bunch of cages in a corner with light bulbs in them or let a solitary longer bird cage emit the light of multiple bulbs. Placing your bird cage lamps on tables or entrance of doors also are good options.

Planters:

A great way to showcase those elegant tendrils and creepers and keeping them out of reach of animals is a bird cage. How absolutely gorgeous do these plants look flowing from the iron bars of a bird cage?

Bird feeders

Invite the garden birds over for a tea party in your cages but be sure to give them a chance to fly away when they wish! Turning a bird cage into a bird feeder is a simple affair. However, one must make sure the bars of the cage are far enough to allow the birds to move to and fro with ease. Hang a bird cage or attach one over a bird bath for a double bird friendly affair!

Ornamental decor:

Add some fresh flowers into a bird cage to make a refreshing table piece. Adorn your birdcages with artificial butterflies, birds or flowers and hang them in your house for a breezy summery look. Your bird cages can even double up as refined jewelry holders!

And there you have it! Numerous ways in which bird cages can beautify your homes. Colorful or  subtly toned, simple or intricate, single or in clusters, the bird cage can transform your interiors!
